Miramax to Adapt Timothy Leary
According to Variety, Miramax is developing a biopic of Timothy Leary for the bigscreen after snapping up rights to the upcoming novel Timothy Leary: A Biography.
Written by Robert Greenfield, the book tells the story of how Leary, a Harvard professor, rose to become a prominent voice of the 1960s anti-establishment movement.
Timothy Leary is one of many biographies written by Robert Greenfield including S.T.P.: A Journey Through America With the Rolling Stones, Bill Graham Presents: My Life Inside Rock and Out and Dark Star: An Oral Biography of Jerry Garcia.
Timothy Leary: A Biography does not come to bookshelves until June 6th.
"What makes this project interesting is that for the first time, we will see the man behind the myth," said Miramax head Daniel Battsek.
