Viggo Mortensen
Here is a brief update for all you fans of Viggo Mortensen -- and we know there are a ton of you out there. After his dirtier role in History of Violence, Mortensen has taken what looks to be a vacation from film. With only one film in post-production, it is good to see Viggo finally pick up something new.
Viggo Mortensen for Eastern Promises
According to Variety, Focus Features and BBC Films have picked up Viggo Mortensen to star in David Cronenberg's upcoming film titled Eastern Promises.
The script was written by scribe Steve Knight (Dirty Pretty Things, Amazing Grace).
Eastern Promise is a London thriller that centers on a nurse investigating the identity of a Russian girl who dies in childbirth. The nurse stumbles into danger when she learns the woman was a prostitute involved in sex trafficking.
Things get more out of whack when the nurse discovers that this "Tom Stall" isn't all he says to be. Ok, ok, wrong movie -- Viggo Mortensen will play a man caught up in the Russian mob.
Wait a sec! I see some similarities here. Does he also love "69" and bringing the pain? Ok, ok, wrong movie... again.
You can see Viggo Mortensen in the upcoming film Alatriste; the only film he originally had on his slate.
