Bale regains his form to come back as the dark knight
Sci-Fi Wire has recently had the privaledge of talking to Christian Bale about his role as Batman and the steps he had to take to get back into physical form.

Christian Bale Talks Weight and Exercise for Batman Begins

While the entire interview is pretty interesting, the girth of the subject matter was about Christian Bale's weight. For all of you who have heard of the film The Machinist, probably have also heard that Bale had to lose a wopping 60 pounds [1/3 weight] to look as skinny and unhealthy as he could for the film. Soon after the shooting of Machinist, Bale had to immediately begin putting on weight to fit the role of our dark knight.

Here are some snippets from the interview:

"[I was] eating, just eating like crazy, just trying to put on pounds and pounds and pounds," Bale said. "I actually went … way overboard. By the time I arrived in England, you know, [director] Chris [Nolan] kind of looked at me in shock and kind of went, 'God, you're like some grizzly bear.' Because I arrived with long hair and a beard and stuff , and I was, like, filling up the hallway. I had actually, by that time, ... put on exactly 100 pounds from the day of finishing The Machinist to arriving in January in England. And it was not very healthy. It wasn't a healthy way to go. I could lift a lot of weights, but you ask me to run across the room, and I would have been exhausted. So when I got here, that's when I had to really start leaning out and doing a lot of running and all of that stuff."

Must be nice to have that type of weight control. Well, to read the entire interview, head over to Sci-Fi Wire.
