I have just finished watching the feature trailer for Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest for just about the fifth time and have to admit that if all the summer blockbusters look as good as this we will have one hell of a summer season ahead of us.
The same goes for X-Men 3: The Last Stand. After a feature trailer, 20th Century Fox has been holding off on any major media updates up until this week. Will they look as good as the latest trailer for Pirates? Hard to say, but director Brett Ratner is convinced that X3 will feature scenes that are "jaw-dropping."
X-Men 3 Scene Details
Though Ratner claims to be overly impressed with some of the larger effect shots, he also wants moviegoers to know that the film will have a large emotional element to it. During a recent conversation with Sci Fi Wire, Ratner gives some additional details for the bridge sequence and the first re-encounter between Wolverine and Jean.
As for a quieter moment? Ratner pointed to a spoiler scene between Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) and a pre-Dark Phoenix Jean Grey (Famke Janssen). "Wolverine is looking at Jean after she's come back," Ratner said. "They're in the infirmary, and he's looking down at her. It's a great moment, because you see that he loves her. He's staring at her with love, because he doesn't know if she's going to live or die, and all of a sudden she grabs his hand. That's reminiscent of [a similar scene in] the first movie, when he grabbed her after he'd been unconscious, when she was looking at him, in a different way, of course. But that, I thought, was a beautiful moment."

X-Men 3: The Last Stand comes to theatres on May 26th.
