According to Variety,
Dreamworks has picked up Halle Berry and Benicio Del Toro to star in Things
We Lost in the Fire.
The film, directed by Susanne Bier, tells the story of woman (Berry) whose
husband suddenly dies. She invites her husband's troubled best friend (Del
Toro) to live with her family, and as the friend turns his life around,
he helps the grief-stricken family confront their loss.
The script was written by Allan Loeb who will also take a seat as executive
producer. Sam Mendes and Sam Mercer will co-produce.
Things We Lost in the Fire will be the
first English-language film for Susanne Bier.
