I don't know how I let this film skirt under the
radar for so long... there will be a Doom adaptation based off
of the popular FPS [first person shooter] game.
Doom Goes Game to Film
Not much more I can say on the film as of now, except that the movie does
have a scheduled release date for August 5th of this year. To add a little
more hype to the film, both Karl Urban and The Rock will star in Doom.
For those of you who have never heard of Doom [where have you been!],
it was the PC game that revolutionized First Person Shooters. From Doom
spawned Quake, Unreal Tournament, and tons of other big-name classics. Doom
is actually a game trilogy, following the advancements of computer, and
video card, technology. The story takes place countless years in the future
and told in the hyper-kinetic, kamikaze style that made its gaming predecessor
a global phenomenon, the science-fiction action adventure Doom
takes the viewer to the far corners of the galaxy with a fully-realized
vision of a dark and disturbing future.
