Anakin, unknowing of his children?
Got a nice little bit of juicy information for you
from Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith. However, the latest SPOILERS
are very debatable to the point of a loophole in either the Revenge
of the Sith script [doesn't quite match the original Star Wars
trilogy], or the spoiler itself. However, the first SPOILER
is very real....
Qui-Gon Jinn Returns for Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith
That is correct! Liam Neeson, with the push of Samuel L. Jackson, slightly
admitted to USA today that he will be back for Star Wars: Revenge of
the Sith. However, do not expect to see Qui-Gon Jinn running around
and swinging the saber again. Rather, Qui-Gon will either come back as a
voice [spirit mentor], or a ghost vision similar to Obi-Wan's [Alec Guinness]
ghostly visions in the original Star Wars trilogy.
Crazy Luke Skywalker Theories / Spoilers for ROTS
Alright, I have had a huge report sent to me from 'moviebuff' about some
spoilers and threads over at theforce.net [exact URLS given below]. I got
to say, I have checked out the threads [partially] and have taken what I
have heard to tell you some theories and my 'validity rating' on them. Each
theory deals with the same concept... Luke Skywalker and his creation.
*all of these theories begin with the possible explanation of why Luke and
Leia were able to stay under Vader/Anakin's radar for so long. This topic
is also brought on by Motee over at theforce.net forums. Motee claims that
Anakin has a dream that Padme is pregnant with his daughter.
Theory 1- Luke Spontaneously Appears
This is one of the most far fetched theories, but here goes. After Padme
becomes pregnant, Anakin has a dream of a daughter [not twins]. He and Padme
decide to name the daughter Leia. As we know, the dark side of the force
put Anakin into a type of steroids rage and he harms Padme. Padme dies [either
from Anakin, pregnancy, or other], causing Anakin to believe that his 'daughter'
is dead too.
Remember that 'the force' caused a immaculate conception of Anakin, so 'the
force' obviously has some pull when it comes to child bearing. Noticing
that Anakin has gone astray, 'the force' decides to place a second child
inside of Padme, hidden from Anakin. The second child will become what Anakin
should have become. The child will be a 'child of the force', similar to
Anakin.
Something Wrong?: Too far fetched! Anakin is the 'chosen
one', 'the force' would not create Luke in even a remote manner.
Validity:
Theory 2- Anakin, as Vader, Knew He Still had a Daughter Named Leia
Out There
*According to recent leak that Anakin dreamed of Leia, not Luke: If you
look back at the original Star Wars trilogy [A New Hope], Leia
becomes a prisoner of Vader's. However, Vader never senses that Leia could
be his daughter; or does he? When Vader goes to interrogate Princess Leia,
he takes in a needle-bot with him and shuts the door. We assume he uses
force tactics, like beating her, to get information out of her. However,
we see her later without a mark on her. Vader is a bad dude, what would
he have against beating a prisoner for vital information? Grand Moff Tarkin
suggests [to Vader] that there are other ways of getting information out
of Leia. Vader seems to respond with a sense of concern. It could be played,
some how, that Vader had 'sensed' that Leia was in some way connected to
him. Therefore, he interrogates her in private, to prevent others from seeing
the uncommon remorse he offers her. Does Vader understand that his daughter
may have survived? Vader would learn [in the original trilogy] he had a
son also by hearing of a man named Luke Skywalker.
Something Wrong?: It would be a heck of a reeeech to pull
such small details from the original trilogy to try to make that large of
a connection. Vader seems surprised when he discovers Luke has a twin sister
when the two duel in Return of the Jedi. When Vader picks up on the sister,
he does not seem to assume that it was Leia. *point to note: Vader does
want to rule the galaxy with family-- 'father and son.'
Validity:
Theory 3- Luke was Protected by 'the Force'

Luke visits Yoda
Padme always bore twins. However, 'the force' knew of Anakin's switch to
the dark side and knew that Luke would have to be hidden from his father.
Luke represented a last chance to help bring balance to the force. So, Anakin
is presented a dream with only his daughter, Leia. Luke was so well protected
that, at his birth, the people who witnessed his bringing were put in shock.
According to one leak, they point out that there is a delay after the birth
[in ROTS] to the word 'children'; instead of 'child'., as children
were not expected. Vader would only learn of Luke after he hears of a talented
starfighter who hangs with Obi-Wan, who was able to escape the Death Star,
and who has the last name of Skywalker. However, it should be told that
Vader must of, at some time, had an idea that he was going to have a son.
This is the only way to link ROTS to the original trilogy. If you
remember of Star Wars: A New Hope, Obi-Wan gives Luke a light saber
and says something like: 'your father wanted you to have this... when you
were old enough.'
Something Wrong?: This seems to be a little closer to what
I would have expected. But, I do believe that Vader/Anakin knew that all
options were a possibility. Remember, the future is never clear, even to
a Jedi.

Theory 4- My Polished Theory
Alright, here is my own theory based on posts and personal beliefs [also
based of the 'spoiler' that Anakin dreamed of Leia]. First off, I do believe
that Padme was endowed with twins from the beginning. I also believe that
Luke was hidden by 'the force' from Anakin and many others [if not all].
However, Luke is in no way like Anakin, nor is he anything close to a second
'chosen one'. Anakin is the 'chosen one', the person who will bring balance
to the force [something he does in fact do: READ
ARTICLE]. This does not mean that the 'chosen one', Anakin/Vader,
won't need a little push along the way.
One of the coolest aspects to Luke is that he represents a new beginning
and a new hope. Luke is just one of the steps required for Anakin/Vader
to balance the force. As Anakin dies and becomes Vader, Luke is born [pretty
poetic actually]. To get back to the point: Anakin works to serve as a very
important pawn to cause certain events to occur. So, Padme dies, and Anakin
assumes that his daughter also died. It will not be up until twenty years
later that Anakin, now Vader, realizes that he does have a son. But what
does he think happened to the daughter that he had a dream of?
Well, if you remember the wisdom of Yoda, the path laid out is never clear;
'hard to tell the future is.' During Luke's visit to Dagobah, he has a vision
of Han and Leia suffering. After telling this vision to Yoda, Yoda takes
a look and responds that even visions can be wrong. Luke soon leaves Dagobah
and saves Leia and company from the Empire. So, what Luke had envisioned
does not occur. Anakin, being trained for many years under Obi-Wan, must
have encountered these teachings at some time also. When Anakin, in the
original trilogy, comes to learn that he has a son, he dismisses his vision
of a daughter. This is why Vader has a sound of surprise when he picks up
[from Luke's feelings] that he also has a twin daughter. This should come
as a complete surprise to Vader, as not only did one child survive, but
another hidden child [Luke] survived also.
To further hide Luke from unwanted eyes, it is possible that Luke's birth
was either late or he had to be extracted after Padme's death. This theory
is actually somewhat plausable-- If you remember from Return of the
Jedi, Luke and Leia discuss their parents. Leia says that she does
remember Padme [alive], while Luke has absolutely no memory of her.
And for some final pointers: It has been said that Luke was hidden from
Anakin after Anakin began to turn to the dark side. I do not believe this
is so. Padme was meant to have twins, and 'the force' always planned on
hiding Luke from his father. For Anakin to complete his task as the 'chosen
one', he would need a push or some help. This push would come from the arrival
of Luke, who claimed he can still see good in his father. Well, if you read
my 'Anaking as the Chosen One'
article, you would know that 'the force' meant for Anakin to go bad so he
could first help wipe out the Jedi, and then wipe out the Sith [remember,
true balance comes from non-existance on both sides]. To balance the force,
one had to destroy those who had it out of balance. During the era of young
Anakin, we see the Jedi Order flourishing without much threat of any Sith.
Luke was created for a single purpose, to help his father complete the tasks
of the 'chosen one.' By going to the dark side, Anakin was able to become
close to the Sith and the Emperor. With the arrival of Luke, Anakin/Vader
found the strength to finish the task layed before him by throwing one of
the last remaining Sith superpower [the Emperor] over a ledge [in order
to protect Luke]. To further complete the balance, Vader [another Sith superpower]
soon dies.
Something Wrong?: Heck, there can be a ton of things wrong.
I guess it all depends on how much Lucas relies on little pieces of dialogue
[such as the one about Leia meeting Padme and Luke not]. Conversely, even
though Jedi and Sith lords can't see their paths too clearly, it is 'the
force' itself that lays down the path; with every event and curve thought
out precisely.
Validity:
Well, that is it for now. If you want to look into the 'Anakin dreams of
Leia' theory further, check out this thread over at theforce.net.
It is late, and the only reason I stayed up was of the quick scoop from
a reader. So, there may be some changes to these theories in time to come.
