Though the incredibly hyped Snakes on a Plane still anxiously awaits its arrival to theatres, director David R. Ellis is ready to move on to his next project.
David R. Ellis to Direct Asylum
According to Variety, director David R. Ellis (Snakes on a Plane, Cellular) will direct Asylum for Ashok Amritraj's Hyde Park Entertainment, which is producing and fully financing the film.
Based on a script by Ethan Lawrence, Asylum is about a group of college freshmen who learn that their dorm was once a notorious asylum.
The film is set to begin shooting later this year.
No cast has yet to be announced.
Snakes on a Plane opens through New Line on Aug. 18. Ellis, who was a stuntman before turning to directing, also helmed Final Destination 2 and Cellular.
