The updates for Spy Hunter
seem to only come in spurts. After a script review that drooled all over the film, Universal has taken the film off the radar.
Fortunately there is also a new Spy Hunter game coming our way, and that has brought Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson back into the spotlight.
Spy Hunter Developments
The Rock recently sat down with Yahoo!'s video games department to discuss the upcoming Spy Hunter game and current developments on the upcoming film.
The script for the Spy Hunter movie has been completed and Universal currently has it pegged for a tent pole release next July. The film is expected to shoot later this year. When asked what fans can expect from the big screen version, Johnson said they'll get a "great, well-written story that's not overly complicated, and funny."
"Spy Hunter will have great action," said Johnson. "Some of the set pieces that were written are absolutely mind-blowing. Stuart Beattie has done a fantastic job with the script."
I can only hope that Universal will not have to rush production with the limited time between filming and theatrical release.
