According to Variety, New Line is currently working with Bill Oakley and
Josh Weinstein to write out a script that should rely mostly on Seann William
Scotts extreme personality. If you don't know of whom I speak, throw American
Pie, The Rundown, or Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back
in your DVD player. The film, currently titled The Optomist, is about a
person who was born without the gene that causes unhappiness. Mix this concept
with Scott and imagine the possibilities.
As in most films, Scott will find true love in a cynical reporter who gives
him a whole new look on life.
