Will Smith continues to pick up more projects and, now that his schedule is beginning to fill up, the actor has gone a bit suicidal.
Will Smith for Seven Pounds
According to Variety, Columbia Pictures has picked up Will Smith to star in Seven Pounds. Smith will also produce with his Overbrook partner James Lassiter and banner Escape Artists.
Both Smith and Lassiter have grown comfortable with Escape Artists after just working with them on The Pursuit of Happyness.
Scripted by Grant Nieporte, Seven Pounds is about a man intent on killing himself who falls in love before he can do the deed.
2006 has a been a busy year for Smith as he continues to add more film projects to his lineup. Smith is currently signed up for playing a hero in I Am Legend for Warner Bros., then a superhero having an existential crisis in Tonight, He Comes for Columbia Pictures. He's also producing and starring in a bigscreen version of the TV series It Takes a Thief.
Smith is also still jumping around films such as Greenbacks and Time Share.
