The fight scenes are full of blood and sweat droplets flying through the air or glistening on the fighters’ bodies. The high mastering quality highlights every crack and chip in the meticulous gym set.
The women may still have a bit of soft focus because of film makeup and lighting, or just having perfect faces, though Hilary Swank’s back ripples are like waves of muscle in HD. Clint Eastwood isn’t afraid to let all his distinguishing traits show through in all their glory either.
And of course that scene that’s so hard to watch, that many people still close their eyes through on repeat viewing, if you can take it, you will see the clearest, bloodiest pulp of a face when she gets that surprise sucker punch. If that’s not what HD-DVD is about, I don’t know what is.
