Nicolas Cage has got one hell of a to-do list for the next couple years. With up to ten films already scheduled to hit theatres by the time 2008 closes out, Cage is ready to squeeze in one more.
Nicolas Cage for Bangkok Dangerous
According to Variety, Nicolas Cage has been picked up to star in Bangkok Dangerous, a remake of the 1999 Thai film that will be helmed by the original's directors, Oxide Pang Chun and Danny Pang.
Cage, who is no stranger to action films, will play a cold-blooded hit man who heads to Bangkok to pull off four jobs, and winds up falling in love with a local girl and bonding with his errand boy.
Jason Richman (Bad Company) wrote the script.
This will be the second English-language film for the Pang brothers, twins who just completed Scarecrow for Sony.
Cage is currently shooting Lee Tamahori's Next. He'll next be seen in the Oliver Stone-directed World Trade Center in August for Paramount.
Now that we have Superman Returns coming to theatres I sometimes try to imagine what the film would have been like if Nicolas Cage actually tried to pull off a Superman in the late 90s. I can't stop shuttering.
