Fanning, Penn, Morse for Kampmeier Indie
According to Variety, Dakota Fanning, Robin Wright Penn and David Morse are set to star in an untitled indie pic that Deborah Kampmeier is directing and writing.
The story, set in the South in 1961, revolves around a precocious girl who overcomes the negative effects of abuse by singing and dancing like Elvis.
The film began shooting this week in Wilmington, N.C.
You can see Dakota Fanning this December in Charlotte's Web, a live-action film that mixes in CG animals.
Wright Penn starred in Kampmeier's debut feature, the fest favorite Virgin. She also stars in Miramax Films' upcoming Breaking and Entering and Warner Bros. Pictures' Beowulf.
Morse -- who I will long remember for his role in The Rock -- next stars in Disturbia from DreamWorks and Paramount.
