Over the past month we have pointed out the lack of updates we have received on Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest including early reports from advanced screenings.
It turns out the Disney always had it in their minds to not show any early screenings for the film and it appears they have also announced a reason.
No Pirates 2 Screenings
One of our readers sent over an email alerting us to why we have yet to see any reports from secret screenings of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest.
According to 'Sara', the main reason we haven't heard anything is because Disney hasn't given a single research screening. It seems that they are happy with the final product and find that a research screening would be useless. The only spot where Disney feels they might run into trouble is the ending of the film. Even if the fans aren't happy with it, Disney can now do nothing to change it. It is not that the ending is flawed in any way, it is just a necessary step to lead the franchise into the third installment.
If the leaked plot for the third installment of Pirates is any indication, some of the characters you might not expect to see again will return. (and that's all I am saying on that)
For now we will have to rely on the reports from AICN (here) and Newsweek.
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest opens to theatres everywhere on
July 7th, 2006.
