Eragon Movie Poster
We have recently received an update from 'Joel' for the upcoming film Eragon. Remember the teaser trailer that we had been anticipating for release with Superman Returns? Well, it turns out that Fox isn't quite ready to release it yet.
It looks like Fox has had to push the Eragon trailer release date yet again, this time off of Superman Returns. Today, a reliable source close to the movie who wished to remain anonymous told us that Fox wants to move the trailer off of Superman Returns so that the special effects are further along when the trailer releases. Right now, the movie effects (Saphira, etc.) still have a long way to go. We have no information as to which movie they now anticipate the trailer will release on, but we'll update you as soon as we hear something!
I guess this alert shouldn't come as too much of a surprise. The early trailer impressions claimed that the film looked good but there was little to no effects shots yet; at least, none that were shown. The only scene with Saphira has the dragon so high in the sky that it might as well be Superman up there.
We recently reported that the budget for Eragon will definitely pass the estimated number of $100 million (read here). Considering this is Fox's big chance at another epic, the increase in budget comes as great news.
Maybe Fox is holding off on the teaser trailer until they can get some of their higher budget effect shots into play?
Either way, don't expect to see the teaser trailer with Superman Returns.
Eragon comes to theatres on
December 15th.
