Quick update for the Pirates of the Caribbean
sequels. It seems that Gore Verbinski was able to talk Chow Yun-Fat into
joining the cast and become a pirate himself.
Chow Yun-Fat as Chinese Pirate Captain
It was first suggested that Gore Verbinski had flown into Hong Kong to speak
to Chow Yun-Fat directly about starring in the upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean
sequels. Now, don't worry, all the original cast is still returning for
the sequels. Chow Yun-Fat will join the already impressive cast as the head
of a Chinese pirate ship.
According to reports, part of the requirements for Chow Yun-Fat, laid down
by Verbinski, was that he would have to grow a beard and put on some muscle
weight. Well, judging by a picture from Sudden Weekly, it seems that Chow
Yun-Fat is on his way to becoming a pirate!
The second Pirates of the Caribbean is set for release on July
7, 2006. There were worries when Disney announced that they will actually
be spending less on movie production for the upcoming years. However, fears
were pushed aside when it was also announced that Disney would actually
be working to put out less films so they can concentrate on 'good' movies.
For a final bit of Pirates info, it seems that the rumor of Keith
Richards playing as Jack Sparows father is more than likely gonna turn true.
