When Resident Evil came to theatres in 2002 it received a par response. After all was said and done the film got the 'C' grade from the critics and a domestic box office take of $39 million. Whether it was because of the recent lack of Zombie films or the extra kudos the film received from fanboys everywhere when Milla Jovovich flashed her, uhh, pet beaver, the film kicked off a franchise that, like a zombie, doesn't want to die,
Resident Evil: Apocalypse got the same critical response but earned $10 million more at the box office. Sony Screen Gems is now prepping the third installment, Resident Evil: Extinction, for release in 2007 and it comes packed with good-looking survivors.
Resident Evil: Extinction Production Photos
IGN has recently received two of the first production stills from Resident Evil: Extinction and you have to at least appreciate how Screen Gems knows its audience. What are the first two things that Sony wants to show off from the film? The ladies of course!

The second sequel to the $100 million hit, Resident Evil: Extinction is again based on the wildly popular video game series and picks up where the last film left off. Alice (Milla Jovovich), now in hiding in the Nevada desert, once again joins forces with Carlos Oliveira (Oded Fehr) and L.J. (Mike Epps), along with new survivors Claire (Ali Larter), K-Mart (Spencer Locke ) and Nurse Betty (Ashanti) to try to eliminate the deadly virus that threatens to make every human being undead... and to seek justice.
Resident Evil: Extinction comes to theatres some time in 2007.
