Ben Affleck is George Reeves
When I saw Superman Returns last week one trailer that opened before the film came as quite a surprise. Though I had no warning, Focus Features has finally previewed Hollywoodland and Yahoo! Movies has got the exclusive.
Hollywoodland Movie Trailer
Hollywoodland is a uniquely compelling exploration of fame and identity. The drama, inspired by one of Hollywood's most infamous real-life mysteries, follows a 1950s private detective (Academy Award winner Adrien Brody) who, investigating the mysterious death of "Superman" star George Reeves (Academy Award winner Ben Affleck), uncovers unexpected connections to his own life as the case turns ever more personal. The torrid affair Reeves had with the wife (Academy Award nominee Diane Lane) of a studio executive (Academy Award nominee Bob Hoskins) might hold the key to the truth.
The film has an interesting cinematography that I completely dig. The contrast is at an all-time high with glowing backgrounds and the visual details can get down to the nitty-gritty. In short, it looks like this film was made for high-definition DVD.
I am also still a fan of Ben Affleck and think he can do an incredible job if only given the proper role.
Adrien Brody looks solid as his character seeks to uncover the truth behind Reeves death.
Check out the trailer for Hollywoodland over at Yahoo! Movies.
Hollywoodland has a limited release on September 8th.
