Though Samuel L. Jackson can't seem to shake the Snakes off him at the moment, the actor is still in the market for non-cheesy films.
Samuel L Jackson for Jumper
According to THR, Regency Enterprises has picked up Mr. Jackson to star in the sci-fi thriller Jumper.
Doug Liman, who is making his first appearance since Mr and Mrs Smith, will direct.
Based on the Steven Gould novel, Jumper follows a kid from a broken home who discovers that he has the ability to teleport. In his quest for the man he believes is responsible for the death of his mother, the kid draws the attention of the National Security Agency and another youth with the same abilities.
Jackson will play the NSA agent tracking the jumper, and may have ulterior motives for finding him.
Tom Sturridge, Jamie Bell and Teresa Palmer have already been cast for the film.
Regency, who has high hopes for a new franchise, is hoping to create a trilogy around the film.
David Goyer wrote the original script, which was rewritten by Simon Kinberg.
