The rumor mill began turning and out popped the latest -- Denzel Washington is being eyed for the role of Master Chief in the upcoming Halo adaptation. Wha?
Denzel Washington for Halo?
The rumor all began with DarkHorizons, who gave the piece of information only a single line -- Denzel could be Master Chief.
It's a tough one to believe. It was first mentioned that Master Chief could be albino in the film; making Denzel an awkward fit. One also has to wonder if Denzel's voice would be able to match the voice we'd expect from Master Chief. Voice will be a very important aspect to the character, since he is expected to be entirely covered in armor for a good portion of the film.
Does the rumor have any foundation? Not really, but there is one small thread of connection.
Earlier this month we were told by Associated Press that Washington had flown down to visit Peter Jackson in New Zealand. Jackson, as most already know, is signed up for Halo as Executive Producer.
Could Denzel join the cast of Halo or did he meet Jackson for another role or position on set?
Since there is still no confirmed director for the film, I can't imagine us getting too far with this one.
