Jessica Alba
Still the reigning champion as top hottie in Hollywood, Jessica Alba continues to collect new non- Fantastic Four roles.
Jessica Alba for The Eye
According to Variety, Lionsgate has picking up Cruise/Wagner-produced remake The Eye from Paramount and is now -- excuse the pun -- eyeing Jessica Alba as lead.
The Eye is a thriller about a cornea transplant recipient who sees disturbing images in the mirror that send her on a quest to find out what happened to the eye's previous owner. The original was made in Hong Kong by Thai directing brothers Danny and Oxide Pang. The remake will be directed by French helmers David Moreau and Xavier Palud.
Tom Cruise and Paula Wagner first attempted to have the remake created over at Paramount back in 2002 but the project lost steam when Renee Zellweger, the chosen female lead, dropped out.
Lionsgate pickup of The Eye is another reminder that the Cruise/Wagner contract with Paramount is near its expiration and the two don't mind now shopping to other studios.
Jessica Alba was already close to Lionsgate with plans to star in their upcoming comedy Good Luck Chuck next to Dane Cooke.
