For all of you fans hoping for a Brokeback sequel it is time to put that to rest. After the last season of Sopranos burnt out the whole "Brokeback" topic, director Ang Lee has decided to leave the spooning males behind in order to create an espionage thriller.
Ang Lee's Lust, Caution Cast Grows
According to Variety, Ang Lee has tapped Tony Leung and film newcomer Tang Wei to topline his follow-up to Brokeback Mountain, the espionage thriller Lust, Caution.
Set in WWII-era Shanghai, pic is being made for Focus Features.
Leung (Hero, 2046) will star as a powerful political figure in 1940s Shanghai, while Tang, in her feature debut, plays a young woman who gets swept up in a dangerous game of intrigue.
Lee had to search throughout Chinese-speaking Asia, according to people close to the helmer, Tang Wei as the female lead.
Bill Kong (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon) will produce.
Rounding out the Lust, Caution cast is Chinese pop star Wang Lee Hom, who will play a young student.
Lee has begun to assure his friends that the 'lust' aspect of the title is by no means gay... or is it?
