Warner Bros has released the first trailer for their upcoming paranormal thriller The Reaping starring Hilary Swank.

Movies where a small child is the source of evil always have me wishing somebody would grab a hickory stick and just slap the shit out of whatever kid is creating hell. The same goes for the cute little blonde girl in The Reaping -- smack that b*tch! There will be no biblical plagues in my town missy.
In The Reaping, Hilary Swank plays a former Christian missionary who lost her faith after her family was tragically killed, and has since become a world renowned expert in disproving religious phenomena. But when she investigates a small Louisiana town that is suffering from what appear to be the Biblical plagues, she realizes that science cannot explain what is happening and she must regain her faith to combat the dark forces threatening the community.
The film looks pretty solid with its impressive special effects. Hilary Swank, who is usually a hit or miss for me, also looks good and I can't help but wonder if we will be treated to some gratuitous nudity; it is a horror film after all.
