With the release of the poster and first domestic trailer for The Protector, we can now finally give the film an official preview.
The Protector Trailer, Poster and Synopsis
The Protector is the highly anticipated full bodied action film starring International Martial Arts superstar, Tony Jaa (Ong Bak). His world shaped by ancient traditions, a young Thai fighter (Jaa) is called to defend his people and their honor after outsiders ruin all that is sacred. Fueled by desire to protect a way of life and avenge the wrong done to his family, he will bring the fight to their city.
The Protector Poster
Tony Jaa reminds me of an evolved Jackie Chan. With a younger appeal, quicker-looking moves, and even crazier stunts, Jaa may help carry The Protector to a decent box office take. The only doubt I have is the limited dialogue shown in the trailer. Though the action is definitely the most marketable aspect to the film, the dialogue previewed sounded a bit off beat and cheesy.
