Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon Movies have been working hard getting the roles filled for their upcoming fantasy adaptation, The Spiderwick Chronicles, before it enters into its production schedule. Going big, the studios have picked up two and comers.
Highmore, Bolger for The Spiderwick Chronicles
According to THR, Paramount Pictures has picked up Freddie Highmore and Sarah Bolger as the three Grace children in the fantasy film The Spiderwick Chronicles.
In the movie, the three Grace children move to the ancient Spiderwick mansion, where they discover Brownie, an enchanted creature who introduces them to a world of goblins, fairies and sprites.
Highmore will take on double the work by playing both the troubled Jared and his bookish twin Simon. Bolger will play their sister Mallory.
Mark Waters will direct the film from a screenplay by John Sayles based on the best-selling series of children's books by Holly Black and Tony DiTerlizzi.
The Spiderwick Chronicles is scheduled to enter production on September 12th.
