Iron Man
I don't exactly know what to think of this scoop,
but 'Shannon' has alerted us to a rumor sent over to Cinescape
claiming that Tom Cruise is on the top of the list for people to play the
superhero.
Tom Cruise is Iron Man?
According to Cinescape.com, TOM CRUISE is the frontrunner for the role of
IRON MAN in Marvel's new live-action film on the comic. Cruise has a relationship
with Paramount, who are doing the film, so it makes sense that he'd in the
mix.
Cruise has always been a favourite to play Tony Stark in the movie - telling
the media numerous times that he loves the character - telling Empire Magazine
in 2004 that "He's a fascinating character, but we've got to figure out
how it's going to work".
Cruise has a pretty clear schedule - he's rumored to be involved in a "Mission
: Impossible 4" and is attached to a couple of films ("The Few", "I Married
a Witch") - at the moment, so he may be keeping it free for IRON MAN.
Iron Man is the alter ego of billionaire industrialist Tony Stark, who must
wear an armoured breastplate to protect his injured heart.
So now time for some questions: How valid is this scoop?
Could Tom Cruise pull off Iron Man? Would the fans of the franchise even
give him a chance? We could have another Keaton-Batman issue here. Though
I know Cruise can do just about anything on screen, isn't he a couple years
too old now for the part?
Questions, questions, questions and, at the moment, no answers.
