The cast of Charlie Wilson's War
has grown at an incredibly slow pace. Universal first picked up Tom Hanks
and Julia Roberts, a move we thought would get the casting train moving.
It took a little time after that, however, to get the great Phillip Seymour
Hoffman on board.
It now looks like Universal needed a little eye-candy and picked up Amy
Adams as well.
Amy Adams for Charlie Wilson's War
According to Variety,
the very adorable Amy Adams has been picked up by Universal to join
the cast of Charlie Wilson's War.
Charlie Wilson's War will be directed by Mike
Nichols and produced by Hanks and Gary Goetzman.
Adapted from George Crile's book, Charlie Wilson's War
tells the story of a rogue congressman and CIA agent who found the means
to secretly arm rebels to fight against invading Soviet troops in Afghanistan
in the early 1980s. Hoffman will play the CIA agent.
Adams, Oscar nominated for Junebug,
has quite the interesting filmography including a scandelous stint in Cruel
Intentions 2. Hot damn did she look hot while being evil!
Adams will next be seen with Will Ferrell in Talladega
Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby, which opens Aug 4. She is
currently shooting the Kevin Lima-directed Enchanted for
Disney and is lending her voice to the Spyglass/Disney animated film Underdog.
