After announcing that Relativity Media was finalizing their deal on 3:10 to Yuma (here), we have now been alerted that the great Christian Bale is looking to jump aboard.
Bale to Board 3:10 to Yuma
According to THR, Christian Bale is working with Relativity Media to star opposite Russell Crowe in James Mangold's 3:10 to Yuma.
The move comes as a huge break for Relativity who entered the project with only one of the starring roles filled. This was the same reason Columbia Pictures dropped off the project in the first place. After developing the film for four years, Columbia Pictures had hoped to get filming underway this summer. It was rumor that both Tom Cruise and Eric Bana were circling the starring roles but, by June, the two actors fell out of the mix.
With Yuma in turnaround, Columbia Pictures forced producer Cathy Konrad and Mangold shop the project to other studios.
Fortunately for them, Relativity Media stepped in pretty quick and is currently in negotiations with Columbia Pictures to finance the film either in whole or part..
Christian Bale can soon be seen in The Prestige and will return as Batman in The Dark Knight.
