Though I enjoy using How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days as the butt of many jokes, Warner Bros liked the pairing of Matthew McConaughey and Kate Hudson and is prepping to get the two actors reunited.
McConaughey, Hudson for Fool's Gold
According to Variety, Warner Bros has picked up Matthew McConaughey and Kate Hudson to star in Fool's Gold. The adventure comedy will be directed by Andy Tennant.
McConaughey and Hudson play married treasure hunters whose eight-year search for booty leaves them broke and out of gas. Just as they divorce, they stumble upon a missing clue that might lead them to a fortune.
Fool's Gold has existed at WB since 2001 with a spec script by scribes John Claflin and Dan Zelman. Kenny Lonergan recently wrote the latest draft.
The project will reunite McConaughey and Hudson, who last starred together in the romance laffer How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days.
McConaughey, who is no stranger to romantic comedies, recently appeared in Failure to Launch and has signed on to two new New Line projects including Ghost of Girlfriends Past and The Grackle.
