Melissa George seems to have found her niche with horror films and has jumped aboard 30 Days of Night.

According to Variety, Sony has picked up Melissa George as female lead for their upcoming horror 30 Days of Night. George will star opposite Josh Hartnett. Hard Candy director David Slade will helm the film.
Scripted by Stuart Beattie (Collateral, Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl) and Brian Nelson (Hard Candy), pic is based on the 2002 graphic novel created by Steve Niles and Ben Templesmith. Story is set in Barrow, Alaska, where 30 days of continual winter darkness make the town the perfect feeding ground for vampires.
Shooting is expected to begin this month in New Zealand.
Melissa George can next be seen in Fox Atomic's Turistas, directed by John Stockwell. She also wrapped the indie pics Waz and The Music Within.
