When we were alerted to a new casting update for the adaptation of Stephen King's 1408 we had assumed, like before, that another cast member had been added to the film. First we were told about Cusack, then Jackson, and then Walsh. Well, it turns out that Kate Walsh has been forced to exit the production of 1408 due to scheduling conflicts with her ABC television lineup. When Walsh joined on the agreement was that the show took precedence and so it has.
But who to replace her?
Mary McCormack for 1408
According to Variety, Mary McCormack will be the next to check into Dimension Films' Stephen King adaptation 1408.
John Cusack and Samuel L. Jackson topline the film about a debunker of paranormal occurrences who encounters real terror when he checks into the notorious room 1408 at the Dolphin Hotel.
Mary McCormack will play his ex-wife and mother of his young daughter.
McCormack has quite the television resume with The West Wing and ER. She has also jumped on a dirty-bomb thriller, Right at Your Door, for Lionsgate.
Production of 1408 begins this summer in the United Kingdom.
King's 1408 short story, originally part of an audiobook, was published in the collection Everything's Eventual.
