Simon Pegg
We have been waiting for Shaun of the Dead co-creator and star to finally reveal himself to audiences who, well, haven't seen Shaun of the Dead. With a brief and hilarious stint in Mission: Impossible III, Simon Pegg is ready to star in a biopic.
Simon Pegg for How to Lose Friends and Alienate People
According to Variety, Simon Pegg is doing a move similar to what Meryl Streep did for The Devil Wears Prada. Where she played Vogue editor Anna Wintour, Simon Pegg will become the self-promoting British writer Toby Young in the adaptation of the bestselling book How to Lose Friends and Alienate People.
The story describes the writer's disastrous stint as a contributing editor for Vanity Fair. Young is merciless about his own hapless attempts to ingratiate himself with celebrities and impress supermodels. But he is equally scathing about the ego and grandeur of his boss Carter, and the self-importance of the entire Vanity Fair machine.
All names have been changed for the purposes of the movie -- Vanity Fair becomes Sharps magazine, for example, and Carter will be Clayton Harding -- but that's not going to fool anyone.
Now that Pegg has been selected casting is now under way for the role of Carter.
