Wolverine
Though X-Men: The Last Stand was not the best of the franchise to be released to theatres, it did do one thing -- leave a door open for a return of all of the characters. Well, maybe not Jean.
Though Fox is currently spending time on Magneto and Wolverine, it doesn't mean that the studio doesn't have X-Men 4 in its sights as well.
Donner on X4, Magneto and Wolverine
The good people over at LA Daily News have recently caught up with X-Men producer Lauren Shuler Donner and got her to give a few updates on all three X projects.
Exec producer Lauren Shuler Donner reports that renegotiations will be in order for the fourth installment of the big-screen sagas.
"The newer cast members are signed, and the older cast members are not." Considering the older names involved -- Halle Berry, Hugh Jackman, Rebecca Romijn, Famke Janssen and Anna Paquin -- that could run into a huge chunk of money.
"Next, we're going to do 'Wolverine,' but not before the end of the year because he's in the Baz Luhrmann film," she says of the filmmaker's untitled Australian epic with Nicole Kidman. However, "We have the script and are working on it."
Shuler Donner reports, "We also have 'Young Magneto' in development."
Young Magneto? It looks like both of the spin-offs are looking to be prequels; which is understandable, or should I say safe, if Fox is seeking an X4.
