Now that Elizabeth Banks has made a name for herself as the masterbuting bootie call in 40 Year Old Virgin the bubbly actress is ready to take another shot at romantic comedy and this time Rachel Weisz is coming with her.
Banks, Weisz for Definitely, Maybe
According to THR, Elizabeth Banks and Rachel Weisz are in negotiations for Definitely, Maybe, a romantic comedy from Working Title and Universal Pictures.
Written and directed by Adam Brooks, Definitely, Maybe centers on a soon-to-be-divorced political consultant who has to answer some hard questions from his 11-year-old daughter as he explains his promiscuous past.
The very funny Ryan Reynolds, Derek Luke and Isla Fisher have already been cast. Banks will play Reynolds' college sweetheart who dumps him for his brother, but the two reunite years later. Weisz will play a woman Reynolds dates after Banks.
Elizabeth Banks is also working on quite a few other films including Spider-Man 3, Bill, The H-Man Cometh and she just landed a role in Joe Claus with Vince Vaughn. Whether she returns to the masturbation tub in these is yet to be known. You can also see Banks in the upcoming film Invincible with Mark Wahlberg.
Rachel Weisz also has quite a few projects in production including My Blueberry Nights. The actress can soon be seen in the amazing-looking Aronosfky film The Fountain.
Stay tuned for updates.
Fans predicted that Banks' character, Betty Brant, would become the next romantic interest in Spider-Man 3. Banks appeared in the first two installments and it seemed to be a waste of the actress to leave in a cameo role. In the comic books Brant does have a romantic interest at one time with Parker.
With the love triangle of Mary Jane Watson and Gwen Stacy in Spider-Man 3, Peter Parker may already have too many ladies on his plate.
