Silver Surfer
The Silver Surfer will get a little more emphasis in the sequel to Fantastic Four as 20th Century Fox has added a verb to the title.
Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer
Back in June we announced that the official title for FF 2 was Fantastic Four and the Silver Surfer. Well, it looks like Fox might have thought that sounded a bit too Harry Potter-ish and went with Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer.
By adding the verb 'rise' I guess we can assume that there will be huge character development on Silver Surfer; especially considering that this character in the Marvel universe has a ginormous character arc.
We will have to wait and see for Fox's thoughts on the issue but, for now, check out the 'official' synopsis below.
Marvel’s first family of superheroes, The Fantastic Four, meets their greatest challenge yet in Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer as the enigmatic, intergalactic herald, The Silver Surfer, comes to Earth to prepare it for destruction. As the Silver Surfer races around the globe wreaking havoc, Reed, Sue, Johnny and Ben must unravel the mystery of the Silver Surfer and confront the surprising return of their mortal enemy, Dr. Doom, before all hope is lost.
Now should we wonder how 'official' the first plot is?
