What can I say, Texas Hold'em has had an explosive
growth in the last two years. Because of this, we are witnessing a lot of
networks starting to host their own poker shows and poker tournaments; and
these shows get pleasing ratings. Everybody loves poker! Well, it seemed
only a matter of time before the 'sport' would make a return to film [ala
Rounders].
Eric Bana Plays Poker
Lucky You, written by Eric Roth [Forrest Gump], is a film about
a poker player named Huck [Bana] who attempts to participate in the annual
World Series of Poker in Las Vegas.
Somewhere along the way, Huck falls in love for the sister [Drew Barrymore]
of the women he is currently involved. Then, out of anger, Huck turns into
the Hulk and 'hulk smashes' his girlfriend out of the picture. I wish, Bana
is still due on some 'hulk smashing' that was missed from the Hulk.
Lucky You should at least favor all the growing poker fans out
there, as it will even offer tons of cameos from real professional poker
players.
