What can we say, George A. Romero loves his dead people. After giving us films such as Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead and Land of the Dead, Romero comes back again with George Romero's Diary of the Dead.
Romero to Direct Diary of the Dead
According to Variety, George A. Romero will write and direct George Romero's Diary of the Dead and will produce alongside Artfire Films.
Storyline revolves around a group of film students who encounter real zombies when making a horror pic in the woods.
Romero's latest zombie flick, Land of the Dead, was able to pull in $43 million worldwide at the box office. The film cost approximately $15 million to make.
Producers of Diary are Romero, Peter Grunwald, Sam Englebardt and Artfire prexy-CEO Artur Spigel. Dan Fireman and John Harrison are exec producing, while Ara Katz will co-produce.
Production for Diary of the Dead is set to begin October 11th in Toronto.
Romero also is set to write and direct the thriller Solitary Isle for Ashok Amritraj's Hyde Park Entertainment.
