Those who have read the book for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix know that in this film the Weasley boys all get their fair share of attention. The twins turn it up on their pranks as the rebel against Hogwarts and Ron, who has always been in Potter's shadow, will finally have a chance to prove himself as keeper in the game of Quidditch.
The only problem is that each film has progressively shown less and less of the popular wizard game and, with OotP the largest of the Potter books so far, the game may have to go entirely. Ron is fuming!
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix Rumor- No Quidditch
'PotterFan' has alerted us to a new rumor put up by the good people over at MuggleNet. As far as they can tell, Quidditch is (so far) out in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.
Bad news for those who are looking forward to a good grudge match in the Order of the Phoenix film next summer! We've been informed that there is no storyline in the movie surrounding Ron's Quidditch hardships, nor has there been any filming on broomsticks done by Rupert. We're led to believe that this means there will be no Quidditch in the fifth film at all. We hope to learn more soon!
The game of Quidditch would definitely steal some of the running-time from the film and let's not forget the overall budget as well. I find it odd that they'd pull it completely considering that there is a small event dealing with Ron's Quidditch involvement that strongly effects his relationship with Hermione; at least temporarily.
If they don't give us any Quidditch they better at least give us a ton of the twins.
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix opens to theatres on July 13th, 2007.
