MGM continues to show confidence in their upcoming
World War I flick Flyboys.
The studio recently pushed the film up a week (this September) and they
have now released a cool, five-minute battle clip from the film.
Flyboys Extended Clip
I don't know whether to call Flyboys
a WWI flick or a dogfight movie. Even in the trailers you can tell that
the air battles are going to be the film's best selling point; a detail
that has caught the attention of many moviegoers. James Franco has also
had a couple of misses lately, which could mean he's due.
Either way, I can't escape the euphoric feeling I get when watching any
new clips/trailers from the film including the latest, extended clip titled
"The Battle." Though I am not for certain, I do believe that this
five-minute plus clip is the same one shown at Comic Con.
In the clip we get to see some pretty cool camerawork as we watch German
and French planes fly in and out of one another in an attempt to shoot the
other down. Some bi-planes go down easy while others blow up mid-flight;
with special effects that I appreciate.
But what happens when your gun jams? Well, as Franco's character finds out,
there is some honor in war and, when it does decide to show its head, the
timing couldn't be better.

Flyboys comes to theatres on September 22nd.
