We all know that HDTV can make all the cool parts of movies look wonderful. Unfortunately, that means they can make the awful parts look just disgusting. I couldn’t get through all of Larry the Cable Guy: Health Inspector because my JVC 56” projection TV made it all too real.

Larry the Cable Guy: Health Inspector DVD Review

The opening show of Larry’s butt crack shows all the little brown hairs in perfect detail. All the gooey roaches and bug poop ooze into your living room. The crud on Larry’s beat up truck too.

On the plus side, you do finally get to see all the subtle shades in Larry’s flannel vest. Some of the ethnic restaurants have colorful place settings too. But this is a gross-out comedy and it may be that HDTV has finally found its limit.
