Yari Film Group has sent over the first one-sheet for their upcoming crime drama Haven starring Orlando Bloom, Agnes Bruckner, Joy Bryant, Stephen Dillane, Anthony Mackie, Bill Paxton, Victor Rasuk and Zoë Saldana.
Haven Poster, Trailer and Synopsis
With federal agents on his heels, a corrupt Miami businessman (Bill Paxton) tapes a million dollars to his midsection and flees to the exotic Cayman Islands, his unsuspecting daughter Pippa (Agnes Bruckner) reluctantly in tow. But while her father is desperately laundering his dirty money with a British investment banker (Stephen Dillane), who is skilled in washing ill-gotten gains, Pippa runs off to explore the island and its wild party scene with native Caymanian Fritz (Victor Rasuk). This island bad-boy is a real charmer with a dark side that's liable to get Pippa and her father in serious trouble. He's also an ominous thread connecting a sinister drug lord to Shy and Andrea (Orlando Bloom and Zoe Saldana), two innocent lovers whose forbidden passion ignites a violent chain reaction across the West Indies paradise and turns the tropical haven into a refuge that's anything but safe.
The film is written and directed by Frank E. Flowers, based on his own experiences growing up in the islands. The film marks his debut as a feature film writer/director. Robbie Brener and Bob Yari produce the project. Haven stars Orlando Bloom who also produces. The ensemble cast includes performances by Bill Paxton (Big Love, Titanic, Apollo 13), Agnes Bruckner (Blue Car, Murder by Numbers, Homeroom), Stephen Dillane (The Hours, Truth About Charlie, Hamlet), Anthony Mackie (Million Dollar Baby, 8 Mile, The Manchurian Candidate), Victor Rasuk (Raising Victor Vargas, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind), and Zoe Saldana (The Terminal, Pirates of the Caribbean).
Haven Poster
It is good to see Bill Paxton on the bigscreen again and away from being a polygamist; though I was slightly jealous of the lifestyle. Bloom has been picking up some pretty bitch roles recently and it looks like Haven will allow him to transition from bitch to hardass. He does say it is all for love, however, so maybe he is still in bitch mode.
