Mr. Vincent Cassel, how far you have come. I remember watching his villianous character, Jean-François de Morangias, in the French film Brotherhood of the Wolf; hot damn was he dirty! I was then shocked to see Cassell with all his limbs in Warner Bros' Ocean's Twelve. He has done a couple small films since, but his next big thing has got to be Eastern Promises.
Vincent Cassel for Eastern Promises
According to THR, Focus Features has picked up Vincent Cassell to star in David Cronenberg's Eastern Promises.
Written by Steve Knight (Dirty Pretty Things), the London-based thriller centers on a nurse (Naomi Watts) investigating the identity of a young Russian prostitute who dies in childbirth. She unwittingly stumbles into a Russian police operation that seeks to expose a major Russian Mafia prostitution ring.
Cassel has been cast as Petrid, whose family owns a Russian brothel.
To get a solid taste of Vincent Cassel, I would suggest you go out and rent Ocean's Twelve -- Cassel plays Toulour; Derailed -- Cassel plays LaRoche; and, obviously, Brotherhood of the Wolf.
