The Dark Knight
A lot of rumors have been floating around The Dark Knight ever since, well, we knew there was going to be a Dark Knight. The announcement of Ledger as The Joker didn't help things either with new casting rumors spawning by the week. Fortunately for us, Christopher Nolan has been close to the media thanks to The Prestige, and the media can't help getting a few Batman details cleared up.
The Dark Knight Rumors Answered by Nolan
The good people over at IESB caught up with Christopher Nolan and, besides asking your general array of Dark Knight questions, tried to clear up some of the recent casting rumors floating around.
Q: Any truth to the rumors of Ryan Phillippe or Phillip Seymore Hoffman? CN: (Laughing) As the penguin, no, not true.
Q: Sean Penn? CN: No truth, no truth to any of those rumors. All interesting ideas though.
It is interesting that Nolan points out that the two names do not relate to The Penguin. Is it possible that the answer he gave was a dodge on other possible roles that Phillippe or Hoffman could take? Ehh, all guess work at this point. Check out the entire interview with Christopher Nolan at IESB.
Production is set to begin on The Dark Knight in early 2007.
