Casino Royale
Once Columbia Pictures finishes up on Casino Royale and gets the film in theatres this November, the studio plans to immediately get cranking on the next Bond film, temporarily titled Bond 22. Though the film was originally set for a May 2nd, 2008 release date, Columbia has decided that they are going to need a little bit more time.
Why not make the month of November the month of Bond?
Bond 22 Release Pushed to November 7, 2008
According to THR, Bond 22 -- the yet-to-be-named Bond film that will be produced after November's Casino Royale -- will open Nov. 7, 2008, rather than the original date of May 2, 2008.
The decision to push the date has come after new director, Roger Michell (Notting Hill) bowed out of the project. No replacement directors have yet to be suggested for Bond 22.
The new date also gives the filmmakers the standard two years to complete the next film -- the usual time between Bond movies.
"Eighteen months was a very short window," Blake said. "We're going to stay the course."
Daniel Craig, who will be seen for the first time in the fall as the newest James Bond, already has signed for a repeat performance for the 22nd Bond film.
