There was a lot of green in New York back in the 30s.
A brief Kong update for you. It seems that the cast and crew
have returned from their New Year's holiday and are back at work to help
bring us the latest King
Kong production diary.
King Kong Production Diary
Thanks to the people over at KongisKing.Net,
who have graciously hosted and served all of the King Kong production diaries.
I also have to throw some credit over to Peter Jackson as well. The guy
loves favoring the fans and allowing them into 'his' world. By the time
King Kong is canned, I'd have to expect that there are going to
be about 100 of these diaries posted. Talk about online media marketing!
The latest diary shows the old New York cityscape created by Jackson [in
his love of a country New Zealand]. It looks as if Jackson is attempting
to completely recreate an accurate depiction of New York during the 1930's.
Jackson uses old images, footage, and photos to nail even the small details
such as tiny apple stand on the corner. But, as I always ask, where the
heck is that big ape Kong?
I am starting to get antsy waiting to see a real shot of Kong. Enough art
depictions, or written descriptions, show me Kong! I am hoping by the time
we get to day 110, Jackson will begin to treat viewers with a little taste
of Kong. I mean, Kong has to appear sometime during production.. right?
Anywho, check out the links below to get a full taste of Peter Jackson's
