The Mummy
For those of you who have had a blasty blast with Brendan Fraser in The Mummy and The Mummy 2, it is time to start getting excited for a Mummy 3.
Fraser Game For New Mummy Adventure
According to ProductionWeekly, Brendan Fraser is set to reprise his role as the Foreign Legion soldier Rick O'Connell, featured in the Universal franchise The Mummy, in a script by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar (Smallville) that reimagines the character in another epic adventure.
Universal Pictures has made an offer to Joe Johnston (Jurassic Park 3) to direct the film being readied to begin shooting early next year.
Brendan Fraser was small potatoes up until the 1999 release of The Mummy. Sure, he might have been a cool caveman in Encino Man, but it took some surprisingly entertaining films such as The Mummy and Bedazzled to make the actor a household name.
But let's not get too far ahead of ourselves, Fraser still has a couple prior obligations that he must complete before re-strapping on his Indiana Jones garb.
Fraser will first film the family fantasy Inkheart, an adaptation of Cornelia Funke's best-selling children's novel to be directed by lain Softley. The book centers on a girl whose father, a bookbinder played by Fraser, has the power to bring characters from books to life by reading aloud. When a villainous ruler and his band of rogues from a children's fable kidnap the man, his daughter and her friends both real and imaginary must set things right.
