Alan Cummings as Nightcrawler.
Just a brief update for the X-Men fans out there. Accoring
to Alan Cumming, who had originally signed on to do two X-Men films
as Kurt Wagner or, more commonly called, Nightcrawler, said that X-Men
3, even with no current director, is expected to begin
shooting this Summer.
Cumming on X-Men 3
Even though Bryan Singer has moved on to Superman
V and no replacement director has stepped in, Alan Cumming's
seems to believe that X-Men 3 will begin shooting during this Summer.
Here is what Cumming's claims:
I signed for two films, so I'm going to. The last I heard is that we're starting on the 20th of June, but they don't have a script or a director yet so that may be pushed a little bit. But they have to release it in May of 2006 for some reason so it's gonna be shot in the summer...
I don't know what to think about this statement. First, I am excited that
Nightcrawler will be back, as the opening scene to X-Men United
was the best scene in the entire film. Second, I am beginning to fear more
and more about the survival of the X-Men movie franchise. While
X-Men United was much better than the original, this latest sequel
seems to be going through a 'rush job' with no quality assurance; especially
since they still plan on shooting this Summer without a director worthy
of stepping in to replace the already missed Singer.
The final solution: can Bryan Singer do two films at once?
