Though Trey Parker and Matt Stone did it with Orgasmo, it seems like we have never since had a comedy that takes place in or around the porn industry. Brilliant idea I know. Though we would have hoped for somebody a little more tongue-in-cheek for the job, it will be director Jeremiah Chechik to step up to the task.
Chechik to Direct, Chatwin to Star in The Pornographer's Poem Adaptation
According to Production Weekly, Jeremiah Chechik has signed on to direct a feature film adaptation of Michael Turner's cult novel The Pornographer's Poem. Scribe Karen Walton will adapt the screenplay, based on a dark coming-of-age comedy that centers on a man who discovers the world of pornography by stumbling upon the making of porn shorts.
Whether the main character will have to resort to his "Hamster Style" by the end of the film is yet to be known.
War of the Worlds star Justin Chatwin will play the lead role in The Pornographer's Poem.
Before production, Chechik must first complete the eight-part mini-series The Bronx is Burning, based on Jonathan Mahler's novel Ladies and Gentlemen, the Bronx is Burning: 1977, Baseball, Politics, and the Battle for the Soul of a City. Smart move to shorten this lengthy title down.
