We here at CanMag are so burnt out on generic sport
dramas that each additional project/release is like scratching nails harder
against a chalk board. We love The Rock, but he now seems stuck in the genre.
Coming to theatres this weekend with Gridiron Gang, Dwayne
'The Rock' Johnson is already signed up for The Game Plan.
So generic I almost threw up on my keyboard.
Fortunately for him, the Disney film will receive help from Kyra Sedgwick.
Kyra Sedgwick for The Game Plan
According to Variety,
Walt Disney Pictures has picked up actress Kyra Sedgwick to star opposite
Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson in their upcoming family football comedy
The Game Plan.
The film, written by Nichole Millard and Kathryn Price, centers on a football
player who learns that he has a daughter and follows his journey to become
a father. Sedgwick, who was nominated for an Emmy and a Golden Globe for
her work on TNT's drama The Closer, will play Johnson's ruthless,
over-the-top sports agent who doesn't care about the daughter.
The movie's start of production was postponed after
Johnson suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon in June while on the set of
Gridiron Gang. Production is now slated to start September
24th in Boston.
